Recyclepedia:About
From Recyclepedia
Recyclepedia is an open encyclopedia project with the goal to catalog and share information about how to recycle products, raw material and every day things. Recyclepedia is written by volunteers who want to share their knowledge about recycling and sustainable living. Any volunteer can contribute by creating a new article or editing an existing one. Because Recyclepedia is a wiki based project its various articles and information can be updated as new information becomes available or changes. As more volunteers contribute to the body of knowledge, the more useful Recyclepedia will become.
If you have not done so already, please register for an account and begin writing an article about the recycling options available in your city. Or, profile a company and its recycling programs. Or, share what you know about how to recycle a product or material.

The Back Story
Recyclepedia.org came about one day after Nyla and Peter tried to recycle the jewel cases of their CD collection. After research into the toxic plastics that are used to make jewel cases, they discovered just how hard it was to properly recycle something that millions of people dispose of every day. Recyclepedia was born out of Nyla and Peter's desire to share their new found knowledge about jewel case recycling as well as their hope that more people would recycle if there was a comprehensive website where people could share ways to recycle products and materials.
